Ring Smart Lighting Solar Pathlight — Motion-Activated Solar Path Light, 80 Lumens, Amazon Sidewalk

Model number
smart-lighting-pathlight-solar

The Ring Smart Lighting Solar Pathlight is a motion-activated, solar-powered stake light designed for driveways, walkways, garden paths, and yard perimeters. Up to 80 adjustable lumens of white light (3500K color temperature) illuminate automatically when motion is detected. The solar panel recharges the included 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable battery during the day — no wiring or external power required. Connect via Amazon Sidewalk to unlock smart controls in the Ring app: adjust brightness, set motion sensitivity, create dusk-to-dawn schedules, and link with other Ring cameras, doorbells, and smart lights for coordinated security responses. A Ring Bridge (2nd Gen) or compatible Sidewalk hub (such as the Alarm Pro Base Station) may be required to enable smart controls in areas without Sidewalk coverage. Weather resistant rated IP66.

§ FAQ

Do Ring Smart Lights require the Ring Bridge?

Not necessarily. Ring Smart Lights now connect via Amazon Sidewalk, a free low-power network that covers approximately 95% of the US. If Sidewalk coverage exists in your area (provided by Echo devices, Ring doorbells, or other Sidewalk-enabled devices in the neighborhood), the pathlight will connect automatically without any hub. If you are in a low-coverage area or want wider guaranteed range, the Ring Bridge (2nd Gen) acts as a dedicated Sidewalk hub to ensure connectivity.

How well does the solar charging work in winter or low-sun regions?

Performance depends on available sunlight. In areas with consistent sun exposure, the solar panel recharges the battery during the day to power motion-activated lighting at night. In winter months or regions with extended cloudy periods, battery life between full charges may be shorter. Ring includes a Micro USB cable for direct charging as a backup — you can recharge the battery manually during extended low-light periods.

Can the Pathlight trigger my Ring cameras when it detects motion?

Yes. When connected via Amazon Sidewalk to the Ring app, you can link the Pathlight's motion detection to trigger Ring cameras, doorbells, and other smart lights. For example, motion on your driveway pathlight can trigger your outdoor camera to start recording and illuminate other lights simultaneously — creating coordinated security responses.

Can I use the Pathlight without a smartphone or Ring app?

The Pathlight works as a basic motion-activated solar light without any app configuration — it will turn on when motion is detected using default settings. However, to adjust brightness, change motion sensitivity, create schedules, or link it to other Ring devices, you need the Ring app and Sidewalk connectivity.
