§ FAQ

Does the XSL07Z include batteries?

No. The XSL07Z is a tool-only model. It requires two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) to operate. If you need a complete kit with batteries and charger, the XSL07PT includes two BL1850B 5.0Ah batteries and a DC18RD dual-port rapid charger.

What is the maximum crosscut capacity of the XSL07Z?

At 90 degrees, the XSL07Z crosscuts up to 3-5/8 in. x 15 in. This allows it to handle 4x lumber and wide boards in a single pass. Crown capacity is 8 in. nested and base molding capacity is 6-3/4 in. vertical.

How does the XSL07Z compare to the XSL08Z?

Both saws share the same cutting specs, blade size, RPM, bevel, and miter ranges. The XSL08Z added AWS (Auto-Start Wireless System) capability for automatic dust extractor pairing. The XSL08Z has been discontinued and the XSL07Z is Makita's current production 12 in. tool-only brushless miter saw.

Can the XSL07Z be positioned against a wall?

Yes. The 2-steel rail sliding system reduces the rear footprint during the cut, allowing the saw to operate with its back close to a wall. This space-saving design is particularly useful in workshops and garages with limited depth.

What arbor size does the XSL07Z use?

The XSL07Z uses a 12 in. blade with a 1 in. arbor. Standard 12 in. miter saw blades with a 1 in. arbor hole are compatible and widely available in various tooth counts and configurations.
