§ FAQ

What is the maximum crosscut capacity of the XSL07PT?

At 90 degrees, the XSL07PT crosscuts up to 3-5/8 in. x 15 in. It also cuts 8 in. crown molding nested and 6-3/4 in. base molding vertical against the fence, making it capable of handling the largest standard dimensional lumber in a single pass.

How many cuts per charge does the XSL07PT deliver?

Makita rates up to 175 cuts per charge in 2x12 SPF lumber using two fully-charged 5.0Ah batteries. For lighter material like 2x4s, the cut count per charge will be significantly higher.

What is the difference between XSL07PT and XSL08PT?

The XSL07PT and XSL08PT share the same 12 in. brushless platform and cutting specs. The XSL08PT added AWS (Auto-Start Wireless System) capability for automatic dust extractor activation. The XSL08PT has been discontinued and the XSL07PT is Makita's current production 12 in. brushless miter saw kit.

Does the XSL07PT have reduced rear clearance?

Yes. Like other Makita sliding saws in this series, the XSL07PT uses a 2-steel rail design that keeps the rails from extending behind the saw during a cut, allowing it to be positioned against a wall or in tight spaces.

What bevel and miter ranges does the XSL07PT offer?

The bevel range is 0 to 48 degrees in both directions, making it a true dual-bevel saw. The miter range is 0 to 60 degrees left and right, with positive stops at 0, 15, 22.5, 31.6, 45, and 60 degrees.
