Leviton Level 2 EV Charger, 32 Amp, 7.6 kW, Wi-Fi, Hardwired (Indoor/Outdoor)

Model number
EV32W

The Leviton EV32W is a 32-amp Level 2 EV charger that delivers 7.6 kW to add up to 25 miles of range per hour - enough for most EV drivers to fully charge overnight. Wi-Fi connectivity links to the My Leviton app for charging status, scheduling, and energy tracking without a separate subscription. The NEMA Type 3R enclosure is rated for outdoor installation in rain, sleet, and snow. The 18-foot SAE J1772 cable reaches most vehicles parked in a single-car garage without requiring a pigtail extension. Requires a dedicated 40-amp breaker and hardwired installation. Compatible with all SAE J1772 EVs including all Teslas with an adapter.

§ FAQ

What does Level 2 charging mean compared with Level 1 charging?

Level 1 charging uses a standard 120-volt household outlet and is much slower, often adding only a few miles of range per hour. Level 2 charging uses 208 or 240 volts and substantially more current, which is why the EV32W can recharge an EV overnight in situations where Level 1 would take much longer.

How many miles of driving range does the EV32W add per hour?

Leviton positions the EV32W at up to 25 miles of range per hour under typical conditions. Actual range added depends on the vehicle's efficiency, battery temperature, and whether the charger is operating on 208 or 240 volts.

Does the charger require Wi-Fi to operate?

No. Wi-Fi is used for app features such as scheduling, status checks, and energy tracking through My Leviton, but the charger can still deliver power as a basic Level 2 charger without an active Wi-Fi connection.

Is it compatible with Tesla vehicles, and do I need an adapter?

Yes. The connector on the EV32W is SAE J1772, which works directly with most non-Tesla EVs sold in North America. Tesla vehicles can use it with the appropriate J1772-to-Tesla adapter.

What electrical work is required to install the EV32W?

This is a hardwired charger, so it needs a dedicated 40-amp branch circuit sized for continuous EV charging and permanently connected in accordance with local electrical code. In most homes that means an electrician will run new wiring from the panel, install the breaker, mount the charger, and complete the final hardwired connection.
