Ryobi ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Compact 1/2 in. Hammer Drill (Tool Only)

Model number
PSBHM02B

The Ryobi PSBHM02B is a compact ONE+ HP brushless hammer drill that adds light masonry capability to a small, maneuverable package — 6.3 in. long and 2.25 lbs. The brushless motor delivers 450 in-lbs through a 24-position clutch and 2-speed gearbox, while the hammer mode reaches 27,200 BPM for drilling into concrete and brick. Compared to the full-size PBLHM101B, it trades torque and BPM for significantly reduced size and weight, making it a better choice for electricians, finish carpenters, and homeowners doing occasional masonry work. The PSBHM02K1 is the kit version with a battery included.

§ FAQ

Does the PSBHM02B come with a battery?

No. It is a bare tool. For a kit with a battery and charger, see the PSBHM02K1, which includes a 1.5 Ah battery.

Can the PSBHM02B drill into concrete?

Yes. The hammer mode produces 27,200 BPM for light masonry work — concrete anchors, brick mortar joints, and CMU block. For frequent or heavy masonry drilling, the full-size PBLHM101B or PBLHM102B with higher BPM is a better fit.

What is the difference between the compact PSBHM02B and the full-size PBLHM101B?

The PSBHM02B is shorter (6.3 vs. 7.5 in.), lighter (2.25 vs. 2.9 lbs), and produces less torque (450 vs. 750 in-lbs) and fewer BPM (27,200 vs. 31,000). The compact model is ideal for tight-space work and occasional masonry; the full-size is better for demanding drilling applications.

Is the PSBHM02B also a drill/driver?

Yes. The hammer function can be switched off, and the 24-position clutch converts it to a standard drill/driver for wood and metal work.

What batteries are compatible with the PSBHM02B?

All Ryobi 18V ONE+ batteries work. For hammer drilling tasks, a 2.0 Ah or larger pack is recommended to maintain sustained performance.
