Model number
XSL02Z

The Makita XSL02Z is a 36V (18V X2) LXT brushless 7-1/2 in. dual-slide compound miter saw delivering 5,700 RPM for fast, efficient cuts. Powered by two 18V LXT batteries wired in series, the brushless motor provides extended runtime and reduced maintenance compared to brushed models. It features a dual-slide rail system for a compact footprint, bevels 45 degrees left and 5 degrees right, and miters 47 degrees left and 57 degrees right. Crosscut capacity at 90 degrees is 2-1/16 in. x 11-3/4 in. Sold as tool only; batteries and charger sold separately.

§ FAQ

How does the XSL02Z get 36V from 18V batteries?

The XSL02Z uses two 18V LXT batteries wired in series, doubling the voltage to 36V equivalent. This provides significantly more power and speed (5,700 RPM) than the single-18V XSL01Z (2,200 RPM) while staying on the widely available LXT battery platform.

Does the XSL02Z bevel in both directions?

Not symmetrically. It bevels 45 degrees to the left and only 5 degrees to the right, making it a single-bevel saw for most practical compound cuts. The miter range is 47 degrees left and 57 degrees right with positive stops at common angles.

What is the crosscut capacity of the XSL02Z?

At 90 degrees, the XSL02Z crosscuts up to 2-1/16 in. x 11-3/4 in. At 45 degrees, it cuts up to 2-1/16 in. x 8-3/8 in. The compact 7-1/2 in. blade makes it ideal for trim, molding, and general finish work.

Is the XSL02Z discontinued?

As of current Makita listings, the XSL02Z remains available. It serves as the brushless replacement for the discontinued XSL01Z, offering significantly higher RPM and the benefits of a brushless motor on the same 7-1/2 in. dual-slide platform.

What batteries does the XSL02Z require?

It requires two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately). Any Makita 18V LXT batteries will work. Using matched 5.0Ah batteries will maximize runtime. The dual-battery requirement means you will need either a dual-port charger or two separate chargers.
