§ FAQ

What is the difference between XFD11RB and XFD11R1B?

Both are one-battery 2.0Ah kits for the XFD11ZB sub-compact drill. The R1B is an updated revision of the RB kit. Functional specs are identical; the differences are typically minor accessory or packaging updates. The R1B replaced the RB in the Makita lineup, so the RB is the earlier version.

Is the XFD11RB discontinued?

Yes. Makita has discontinued both the XFD11RB and XFD11R1B. The current-production sub-compact brushless kit in the black colorway is the XFD15SY1B or XFD15R1B. These successors share the sub-compact platform with updated specifications.

Is one 2.0Ah battery enough for the XFD11RB's intended use cases?

For the sub-compact's primary uses — tight-space electrical work, cabinet installation, finish fastening — a 2.0Ah battery typically delivers 60–90 minutes of intermittent use. If the job demands sustained heavy use, a spare BL1820B or BL1830B battery is a practical addition. The rapid charger included in the kit refills the 2.0Ah pack in about 25 minutes.
