Model number
XFD07T

The Makita XFD07T is the two-battery kit version of the high-torque XFD07Z, pairing its BL brushless motor (1,090 in-lbs max torque) with two 5.0Ah BL1850B batteries and a rapid charger. The 2-speed gearbox (0–550 / 0–2,100 RPM), 21-position clutch, and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) deliver heavy-duty drilling and fastening capability with enough runtime for full-day commercial use.

§ FAQ

Why does the XFD07T include 5.0Ah batteries instead of smaller packs?

Makita paired the XFD07T with 5.0Ah batteries because the drill's high-torque applications — large lag screws, self-drilling structural fasteners, spade bits — draw more current and deplete smaller batteries faster. With two 5.0Ah packs, a crew can keep the drill running all day by rotating batteries through the included rapid charger.

Is the XFD07T discontinued?

Yes. Both the XFD07T and XFD07Z are discontinued. The current recommended replacement is the XFD14Z (tool only) or an equivalent kit configuration from the XFD14 series. Stock of the XFD07T may still be available through distributors.

Can I use the 5.0Ah batteries from the XFD07T kit with other Makita 18V tools?

Yes. The BL1850B batteries are compatible with any Makita 18V LXT tool that accepts the Star-symbol battery. This makes the XFD07T kit a smart entry point if you are building out an 18V LXT collection, since the batteries and charger transfer to your entire tool fleet.

Is 1,090 in-lbs of torque too much for everyday driving tasks?

Not if you use the clutch correctly. The 21-position clutch lets you dial in the appropriate torque for delicate fasteners at low settings and ramp up to maximum for structural work. The tool will not automatically over-torque screws if you set the clutch appropriately. For users who mostly drive smaller fasteners, a lighter drill like the XFD12T would be more ergonomic.
