§ FAQ

What batteries are required for the XSH07ZU?

Two 18V LXT batteries with the Star symbol, one per battery slot. Any Ah rating works; 5.0Ah or 6.0Ah packs are recommended for high-volume production cutting to maximize time between swaps.

Does the XSH07ZU come with the AWS transmitter?

No. The saw has an integrated AWS receiver but the transmitter (No. 198901-5) is sold separately. Without the transmitter, the saw functions as a standard circular saw — AWS is purely optional.

How does XSH07ZU differ from XSH06Z?

The XSH07ZU adds AWS capability, a tether notch, and minor ergonomic updates. The XSH06Z has a slightly wider bevel capacity (0–56° vs. 0–50° on the XSH07ZU). Both deliver 6,000 RPM from a brushless 36V X2 motor.

Is this saw appropriate for elevated or high-rise construction?

Yes. The built-in tether notch is designed specifically for jobsites that require dropped-object prevention lanyards. Pair with a rated tool tether for OSHA dropped-object safety compliance above 6 ft.

How does XSH07ZU perform on thick hardwood?

The 6,000 RPM brushless motor with Automatic Speed Change maintains blade speed under load in dense material. For hardwood thicker than 2-5/8 in. (the maximum depth at 90°), multiple passes or a table saw are required. For hardwood at 2 in. or below, the XSH07ZU cuts cleanly with a sharp 40T or 60T blade.
