Model number
XSH06Z

The Makita XSH06Z is the tool-only version of the 36V (18V X2) LXT brushless 7-1/4 in. circular saw, ideal for contractors already invested in the 18V LXT platform. Powered by two 18V LXT batteries in series, the electronically-controlled brushless motor delivers 6,000 RPM, a 2-5/8 in. cutting depth at 90°, and a 0–56° bevel range with Automatic Speed Change technology. The die-cast magnesium base and blade guard combine durability with low weight.

§ FAQ

What batteries does the XSH06Z require?

The XSH06Z uses two 18V LXT batteries with the Star symbol — one per slot. Any capacity works (2.0Ah–6.0Ah), but 5.0Ah packs are recommended for production work. Avoid mixing significantly different capacity batteries, as the depleted one will limit run time.

How does XSH06Z compare to the older XSH01Z?

The XSH06Z is the upgraded successor. Key improvements: brushless motor (6,000 RPM vs. 4,800 RPM), wider bevel range (0–56° vs. 0–50°), Automatic Speed Change technology, and a die-cast magnesium base for more precise cuts. If you own XSH01Z batteries, they work in the XSH06Z.

Is the bevel stop at 45° accurate?

Yes. The XSH06Z has positive bevel stops at 22.5°, 45°, and 56° for fast, repeatable setups. A bevel clamp lever locks the angle securely between stops.

Does the XSH06Z include a rip fence?

No rip fence is included with the tool-only XSH06Z. A rip fence is available as an optional accessory. The kit (XSH06PT) also does not include a rip fence, but does add a dust extracting attachment.

Can I upgrade later to the XSH07ZU?

Yes — both are 36V X2 brushless 7-1/4 in. saws sharing the same batteries. The XSH07ZU adds AWS capability (Auto-Start Wireless System) for dust extractor integration and a tether notch for tool-tethering requirements. If AWS is not needed, the XSH06Z delivers the same cutting performance.
