Klein Tools® RT200 GFCI Receptacle Tester

Model number
RT200

The Klein Tools RT200 is a basic GFCI receptacle tester for standard North American 120V outlets. It detects the six most common wiring faults including open ground, reverse polarity, open hot, open neutral, and hot/ground reversed, and tests GFCI operation via a built-in test button. Large LED light indicators with an on-body key code allow quick fault identification. Certified to UL1436 by UL and CUL. No batteries required. This product has been discontinued; electricians may consider the RT210 or RT250 as active replacements. Backed by Klein Tools' 1-year limited warranty.

§ FAQ

Is the RT200 still available?

No — the RT200 has been discontinued. The RT210 is its current equivalent (GFCI-only, no battery, LED). The RT310 adds AFCI testing and a flexible cord if you need more capability.

What did the RT200 test?

Standard GFCI protection on 120/125V three-wire grounded receptacles, with LED indicators showing 6 wiring conditions: open ground, open neutral, open hot, hot/ground reversed, hot/neutral reversed, and correct wiring.

Does the RT200 need batteries?

No — it drew power directly from the outlet under test. No batteries required.

What replaced the RT200?

The RT210 is the direct equivalent: same GFCI-only LED function with no battery required, updated with a CAT II 300V safety rating and 6.6-foot drop protection.
