Klein Tools 1/8 in. x 125 ft. Stainless Steel Fish Tape

Model number
56340

The Klein Tools 56340 is a 125-foot, 1/8-inch wide stainless steel fish tape for commercial, residential, and VDV wire runs requiring corrosion resistance. Stainless steel construction extends tape life in wet or humid conduit environments. The optimized polypropylene housing decreases payout effort and friction by optimizing the tape payout angle, while slip-resistant geometry improves winding power and reduces binding. A multi-position handle provides a firm grip during pulls and rewinds. Features laser-etched descending 1-foot increment markings and a double loop steel tip. Coils onto a 13-inch diameter reel. No longer in production.

§ FAQ

Is the 56340 stainless steel tape still available?

The 56340 (stainless steel, 1/8-inch x 125 ft) has been discontinued. Klein no longer produces stainless steel fish tapes. The current 56333 (standard steel, 120 ft) is the closest replacement in length.

What replaced the 56340?

The 56333 (standard steel, 1/8-inch x 120-foot) covers the same approximate length. For corrosion-resistant alternatives, the 56059 (fiberglass, non-conductive, 200 ft) eliminates corrosion concerns entirely at longer reach.

Where did stainless steel matter for fish tapes?

Stainless steel resists rust in wet conduit environments — underground runs, coastal installations, and damp commercial areas. Standard steel tapes can rust when exposed to sustained moisture. For wet environments, fiberglass tapes (non-conductive, corrosion-proof) are now the preferred solution.
