Klein Tools 3/16 in. x 50 ft. Spiral Steel Fish Tape

Model number
56013

The Klein Tools 56013 is a 50-foot spiral steel fish tape designed for maximum flexibility and easy navigation through conduit runs with multiple bends and existing wire. The spiral steel tape construction yields a maximum pulling force of up to 500 lbs, making it suitable for heavy pulls. The tape slides easily over existing wires in shared conduit and through tight curves where flat tapes may bind. The tape measures 3/16 inches in diameter and coils onto a large 13-inch diameter polypropylene case. No longer in production.

§ FAQ

Is the 56013 spiral steel fish tape still available?

The 56013 has been discontinued. The current 56331 (standard steel, 1/8-inch x 50-foot) is the active steel tape at this length. For a tape with spiral leader in fiberglass, the 56350 (fiberglass, spiral steel leader, 50 ft) is the current option.

What was the spiral feature on the 56013?

The 56013 combined a steel tape body with a spiral-formed steel leader at the tip, helping it navigate conduit bends. This spiral-leader feature continues on the fiberglass tape line (56350, 56351, 56380, 56056) rather than on steel-bodied tapes.

What is the best current replacement for the 56013?

For corner navigation in conduit: the 56350 (fiberglass, spiral steel leader, 50 ft) provides a spiral leader with a non-conductive body. For pure steel at 50 feet without a spiral: the 56331 (standard steel, 50 ft).
