Klein Tools 6 ft. Lo-Flex Fish Rod

Model number
56306

The Klein Tools 56306 is a single 6-foot lo-flex fiberglass fish rod with a protective splinter guard coating that keeps hands free from fiberglass splinters. The 1/4-inch diameter and lo-flex rating deliver rigidity for pushing wire across long distances in open wall and ceiling cavities. Compatible and connectable with all Klein Tools fish and glow rod sections for extended-reach assemblies. Compact enough to fit in a standard tool bag. Suited for general-purpose wire installation in walls, ceilings, and under floors. Made in the USA. Product has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

§ FAQ

The 56306 is discontinued — what replaces it?

The 56406 (6 ft. Hi-Flex Glow Rod with Splinter Guard) is the current 6-foot rod. It changes the flex rating from lo-flex to hi-flex and adds a glow coating. For a 6-foot lo-flex equivalent, combine the 50053 (5 ft.) with any short extension or use the 50053 alone — the one-foot difference is rarely critical in practice.

Why switch from lo-flex to hi-flex at 6 feet?

Klein's product architects found that a 6-foot rod is most often used as a leading section or in short drop applications where flexibility to navigate an initial obstacle matters more than maximum rigidity. Hi-flex at the tip, lo-flex deeper in the string is the recommended configuration for most builds.

Can 56306 sections still function in a current Klein rod set?

Yes — connector compatibility is maintained. The 56306 can still be used with current Klein tips and sections if the rod is in good condition.
