Klein Tools 12 ft. Fish Rod Set

Model number
56100

The Klein Tools 56100 is a 12-foot fish rod set built from 1/4-inch diameter fiberglass rods that balance flexibility with rigidity for extended-distance wire pushing. Individual sections connect end-to-end via threaded connectors beveled on both ends to prevent snagging on obstructions. Designed for routing wire above ceilings, through wall cavities, under carpets, and across raised floors. The set includes one steel bullet nose tip and one J-hook accessory for attaching and pulling wire. Connectors are compatible with other Klein Tools fish and glow rod sections. Product has been discontinued by manufacturer.

§ FAQ

The 56100 is discontinued — what is the current equivalent?

Klein has replaced the 56100 with the current modular fiberglass and multi-flex glow rod line. For a 12-foot non-glow set, combine three 50053 (5 ft lo-flex) sections or use the SRS56980 (33 ft, 19-piece) for a full professional kit with multiple tips. For a glow-capable 12-foot build, two 50103 (10 ft lo-flex) sections plus one 50053 cover the same distance.

Are the connectors on the 56100 compatible with current Klein rod sections?

The 56100 used Klein's threaded connector system, which has remained consistent across the line. In most cases, current Klein sections and tips will thread onto 56100 sections, though Klein does not officially guarantee backward compatibility for discontinued products.

Why was the 56100 discontinued?

Klein consolidated the fish rod line around the current glow rod sets (50xxx series) and modular multi-flex kits (SRS56980 / SRS56981), which offer greater versatility. The new sets include glow coatings, Splinter Guard protection, and a wider selection of tips compared to the older 56100 set.
