Model number
50103

The Klein Tools 50103 Lo-Flex Glow Fish Rod assembles two 5-foot fiberglass sections to a full 10-foot rod coated in Splinter Guard material that glows bright orange for easy identification in low-light work areas. The lo-flex design provides maximum rigidity for straight wall runs and conduit fishing where bending must be minimized. Stainless steel connectors provide durable section-to-section connections. Includes a flex-to-flex adapter for smooth transition to mid- or hi-flex rods, plus bullet nose and hook attachments. Diameter is 1/4 inch.

§ FAQ

What is the advantage of a 10-foot lo-flex rod versus buying two 5-foot sections?

The 50103 gives you a continuous 10-foot lo-flex section with one connector joint instead of two. Fewer joints mean one less potential snag point inside a conduit or wall cavity. It is a good starting length for ceiling or under-floor runs where you know the path is open and straight.

Does the 50103 include a tip, or do I need to buy one separately?

The 50103 is a rod section without a separate tip. Tips such as a bullet nose or hook attach via the threaded connector at the leading end. If you already own a Klein rod kit, your existing tips will fit. Otherwise, the SRS56980 or SRS56981 kits include multiple tips.

Can I extend the 50103 to reach longer distances?

Yes. Thread additional lo-flex, mid-flex, or hi-flex sections onto either end to build the length you need. The threaded connector is universal across all current Klein fish rod and glow rod sections.

Does the lo-flex rod glow in dark spaces?

Yes. The 50103 has a glow-in-the-dark coating across its full 10-foot length. After charging in ambient light, it glows long enough to help you track the rod through dark plenums or inside open wall cavities.

Is the 50103 appropriate for use in metal conduit, or is it designed for open runs?

The 50103 works in both open cavities and conduit. In conduit, the fiberglass material slides without scratching the pipe, and the lo-flex rating keeps the rod tracking straight through long, straight runs. For conduit with bends, consider leading with a shorter hi-flex section.
