§ FAQ

How does the ET21 differ from the ET20?

Both are display-free WiFi borescopes, but the ET21 uses a 5.5 mm camera (vs. ET20's 9 mm) and a flexible snake cable (vs. ET20's stiffer gooseneck). The ET21 is significantly lighter (5.9 oz vs. 20 oz) and accesses tighter spaces; the ET20 is stiffer for pushing through larger conduit and provides broader illumination in wider cavities.

Does the ET21 work with iOS?

Yes — the ET21 streams via WiFi to the Klein Tools app on both iOS and Android. This makes it more versatile than the wired ET16, which is Android USB-only.

What resolution does the ET21 deliver?

480p — lower than the ET17/ET18/ET19 (720p) and ET20 (640x480). For identifying obstacles, moisture, and general routing in wall cavities and conduit, 480p is sufficient. For detailed surface inspection (cracks, corrosion detail), higher-resolution models are more appropriate.

Is the ET21 camera waterproof?

IP67 at the camera and snake cable — the camera head and flexible cable can be submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. The handle body is not rated for submersion.

Is the ET21 suitable for conduit fishing and routing inspection?

Yes for routing inspection and obstacle location — the 5.5 mm flexible snake inserts into conduit to verify routing. For push-through work in tight conduit bends, the armored ET18 is stiffer and more effective. The ET21's flexible cable is better suited to open void and cavity inspection where flexibility is an asset.
