Kidde Firex AC Hardwired Combination Carbon Monoxide and Photoelectric Smoke Alarm

Model number
KN-COPE-IC

The Kidde KN-COPE-IC is an AC-hardwired combination carbon monoxide and photoelectric smoke alarm sold under the Firex brand. It emits a beeping tone followed by a voice warning that clearly announces the danger — 'Fire! Fire!' for smoke or 'Warning! Carbon Monoxide!' for CO. The front-loading battery compartment makes battery replacement quick and easy and ensures proper installation. Photoelectric smoke sensor detects visible fire particles associated with slow smoldering fires. Includes peak level memory that alerts when CO concentrations of 100 PPM or higher have been detected. Smart Hush silences the unit during nuisance alarm situations. This model is replaced by the 30CUAR-V.

§ FAQ

What is the difference between the KN-COPE-IC and a standard combo alarm?

The KN-COPE-IC uses a photoelectric smoke sensor (better for slow smoldering fires) rather than ionization, and includes Smart Hush (which can be activated remotely without pressing a button when smoke is present) and peak level memory (records peak CO concentration of 100 PPM or higher). It is sold under the Firex brand, which is a Kidde sub-brand with a front-loading battery design.

What replaces the KN-COPE-IC?

Kidde recommends upgrading to the 30CUAR-V, the current DETECT hardwired combo alarm with AA battery backup, voice alerts, self-testing, and enhanced photoelectric sensing.
