Dremel Ultra-Saw US40-04 7.5-Amp Corded Compact Saw Tool Kit with US700 6-Piece Cutting Wheel Kit

Model number
US40-04

The Dremel Ultra-Saw US40-04 bundles the full-featured US40 compact corded saw with the US700 6-piece cutting wheel kit for an expanded multi-material cutting solution. The 7.5-amp US40 motor handles straight cuts, flush cuts, plunge cuts, and surface preparation — three tools in one. A metal foot and guard resist the heat from heavy-duty metal and masonry cutting. The adjustable depth control and clear line of sight let you cut precisely in any orientation. The US700 kit adds six specialized wheels covering wood, metal, tile, masonry, and drywall. With the largest accessory system in its category, the Ultra-Saw handles virtually any material from a single tool.

§ FAQ

What can the Dremel Ultra-Saw US40 cut that an angle grinder cannot?

The Ultra-Saw's specialized wheel positions and form factor allow flush cuts (cutting flush with a surface using the US600 flush-cut wheel), plunge cuts into the middle of a panel, and precision depth-controlled cuts. An angle grinder is more versatile for grinding and heavy material removal but lacks the flush-cut capability and depth-control guide. The Ultra-Saw's compact size also makes it easier to handle one-handed.

What blade sizes does the US40 Ultra-Saw use?

The US40 uses 4-inch diameter wheels for standard rip and flush cuts, and 2.5-inch wheels for metal cutting. All wheels use the same arbor and the US40's two wheel-position system. Standard circular saw blades are not compatible — only Dremel Ultra-Saw wheels fit.

Can the US40 cut ceramic tile?

Yes. Use the Dremel US540-01 diamond tile blade (not included in the US40-04 kit). Work slowly to prevent cracking, keep the wheel wet if possible, and use depth control to avoid undercutting. The US40's metal foot dissipates heat generated during tile cutting better than plastic-footed competitors.

Does the US40 include a dust bag or vacuum port?

No dust collection is built in. For dusty applications like masonry or drywall, use safety glasses and a dust mask. Some users attach a shop vacuum hose near the work area to capture debris.

What is the depth of cut for the US40?

Using a 4-inch wheel, the US40 achieves approximately 1-1/4 inch depth of cut at 90 degrees. For thicker material, the flush-cut position (US600 wheel) cuts up to 1 inch when flush-cutting against a surface. Depth adjustment is made by sliding the depth guide on the foot.

Is the Dremel US40 worth it vs. a standard circular saw?

They serve different purposes. A standard circular saw is faster and more efficient for cutting full sheets of lumber. The US40 excels at precision cuts, flush cuts flush with walls or floors, plunge cuts into existing surfaces, and cutting tile or metal — tasks where a standard circular saw cannot compete. It's an ideal second saw for renovation and remodeling tasks.
