Delta Pilar Touch2O.xt Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet (Chrome)

Model number
4338-DST

The Delta Pilar 4338-DST is Delta's flagship touchless kitchen faucet, featuring Touch2O.xt technology that activates water flow automatically when it senses hands or objects near the spout — no physical touch required. An LED ready light confirms the faucet is active. The system also supports manual touch activation and traditional lever-handle operation, giving you three ways to control water flow. Battery powered (6 AA, ~2-year life) with no electrical wiring required. MagnaTite Docking returns the wand magnetically, DIAMOND Seal Technology provides a long-life valve, and Touch-Clean spray holes simplify maintenance. Flows at 1.8 GPM, WaterSense certified.

§ FAQ

How does Touch2O.xt touchless activation work?

Touch2O.xt uses an infrared motion sensor near the base of the faucet spout. When the sensor detects hands or objects within its activation zone, water starts flowing automatically. When you remove your hands, the water stops. This allows completely hands-free operation for food prep and dishwashing. You can also touch the faucet body to activate it (like standard Touch2O), or use the lever handle manually.

Does the touchless sensor trigger accidentally when things are placed in the sink?

The sensor is calibrated for typical kitchen use. Placing items in the sink can occasionally trigger it, but the sensor zone is positioned to minimize false activations from counter activity. Delta recommends the 'touch to pause' feature: if you need the sensor off temporarily, touch the faucet body to toggle the sensor mode.

How long do the batteries last in the Pilar Touch2O.xt?

Delta rates battery life at approximately 2 years under average use (about 40 activations per day) with fresh alkaline AA batteries. Heavy use or frequent sensor activations will shorten this. A low-battery indicator light alerts you before batteries are fully depleted.
